The first reader who was not in the room

· 1 min read

The author was in the room. Every shortcut has a story. Every missing filename was "obvious." The file looks finished.

A cold agent does not have that story. A picky editor does not either. They read what is on the page. If the hour never names the output file, they invent one. If two files contradict, they pick one and the other is a lie waiting for a buyer.

Cold-eye is that first reader, written down. Ten tests. A critique. Then stop. It does not rewrite. Intent does not count.

Work still on the table is a different hour. This one is for what claims to be done.
